Prayers at special times in our life ....
Anxiety - You may have good cause to be anxious or perhaps frightened about the future. Remember, your Lord Jesus is still beside you and watching over you. Whatever happens from now on it is because He allows it to happen. Leave matters in His hands. If He has allowed you to get into this situation He will see you through it if you trust Him.
"Don't worry about anything, but in all your prayers ask God for what you need, always asking Him with a thankful heart" Philippians 4:6

Bereavement - Right now Jesus shares your pain and sorrow for the loss of a loved one. His Holy Mother, the Virgin Mary, experienced unbearable grief when she saw her Son nailed to the Cross. But three days later this grief turned to joy with His Resurrection. Through His Resurrection Christ conquered death and evil. He promised us eternal life with Him in Heaven.
"I said, 'In a little while you will not see me, and then a little while later you will see me.' ... you will cry and weep ... you will be sad, but your sadness will turn into gladness." John 16:19

Crisis - Force yourself to believe that God is in control of whatever crisis you are facing. He has permitted the situation to happen because, somehow, it helps further the plan He has for you or for others involved in that situation. In the midst of your turmoil and grief, you should trust Him.
"In the world you will have trouble and sorrow, but rejoice ... I have conquered the world." John 16:33

Doubt - Very few people are so confident in their belief that doubt never sets in. That niggling little thought at the back of our mind put there just to tempt us and lead us astray. Go away, Satan! (Matthew 4:10)
"Happy are those who have not seen Me, but believe." John 20:29

Forgiveness - Whilst earthly forgiveness can be gained it is not always unconditional or given freely. God's love is such that He forgives us many times even though through our weakness we sin again. We should be thankful for such generosity from our Creator; and remember it when others seek our forgiveness.
" ... seventy-times seven." Matthew 18:21

Guidance - We can't always be self-assured and confident in our decisions. There are times when confusion sets in and we really can't decide what's best ... Stop! Rest! ... and Pray! The first step is to stop fretting as this will only confuse you further. Put your mind at rest and try to analyse your options, seeking advice if necessary. Earnestly pray for guidance from your God. He will show you the way.
"Your Father already knows what you need before you ask Him." Matthew 6:8

Loneliness - Do not be afraid for I have redeemed you. I have called you by your name. You are mine. (Isaiah 43:1). Whether in our physical or spiritual loneliness the Lord Jesus is always near and ready to help us; if we ask Him.
"I will be with you always, to the end of time." Matthew 28:20

Reconciliation - Life is too short to bear a grudge. Sure ... you have good cause to be angry, upset and unforgiving. Reconciliation is the last thing on your mind right now. When Christ was dying, after being betrayed by His disciple, denied by another, arrested, beaten, tortured, mocked and nailed to the Cross - did He consider revenge or reconciliation? Did He ask His Father to forgive them?
"Live in peace with one another." Mark 9:50

Thankfulness - God helps and saves us many times every day, from evil and troubles that we cannot even imagine. But do we stop to say 'thank you'? Or do we just forget; because we're too busy! Our daily prayers should include at least one expression of gratitude for all He has done for us.

"... where are the other nine? " Luke 17:17

Tiredness - When we're so tired physically, mentally, or spiritually; when the temptation to stop and give up is just too great and appealing; not to bother any more and not try any more ... that's when we need to remember Christ's promise ...

"Come to me, all of you who are tired from carrying heavy loads, and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:28

Uncertainty - Sometimes in life we are apprehensive and confused about what to do next. God has been there. He is the past, the present and the future too. He is the Alpha and the Omega - the beginning and the end of time. We must trust Him in our journey through life.
"It is your Faith which has saved you; go in peace." Mark 5:34
